The whole team visited the site of the sewing/wedding shop in Kigali this morning. In order to get it going we need some woodworking done, shelving and various things built that can be installed there. John stayed at the shop as the other guys went to various locations in Kigali to price things. After spending some time talking with the ladies, measuring and drawing what we needed we went out to purchase a few things – a mirror and vinyl for part of the floor. We were also able to visit some other shops in the area and look at what they were offering, find a resource for fabric and supplies and get a feel for what we might offer as a business. After lunch we went out to Kabuga and Debbie and I spent the afternoon organizing and cleaning the sewing room – Thank you Debbie!
Some of the guys went to look at wood, tools, machinery and things that will be needed when the shop is completed. This is important research that took place since they needed the information to price items for the future, as wells as find out what is available here in Rwanda.
We all met at the Kabuga site later in the day. Steve was able to finish some projects that he had going to help them with their hand tool processes. We were all able to observe the progress made on the building – It is amazing to see how much was done in a week!
