» Day 7

Phew, what a day. It started off early, with Krysti and the guys heading into town to buy supplies. The men had to get some key items, and Krysti needed fabric for her project today. The sewing ladies learned how to sew from a pattern today, and they’re becoming increasingly familiar with using the electric machines.   These ladies are also being encouraged to think about how they can help others, while they are building their business.
Tamara, Shelli and Debbie took off to a school in Kigali and what they thought were going to be 32 children turned into 72 and they only had an hour and a half to do everything. They sent up some quick prayers and by God’s grace had enough supplies for all of them and got done only about 15 mins late. All the children made mud handprints and paper crowns and talked with Tamara about how precious they are to Jesus.

Later in the day, Debbie and Tamara went to one of the local churches in Kigali to find about 300 more kids than they were expecting. Debbie told a story and Tamara taught them ‘Jesus loves me.’ they said that most of the kids stood up during the alter call.

Mike preached today at the church we visited on Sunday. He spoke on forgiveness, and once again, there was a great response from the people. He’s also felt burdened for the young men that have been working at the Kabuga site and preached a sermonette to them today. Eight of the young men, including a Muslim stood when he extended the invitation.

The building project is coming a long nicely with Ron heading that up and Mike as his lovely assistant when he’s not preaching. Steve Emerson spent a good part of the day watching the woodworking students work and getting a feel for how things are done. He also went to look at some machines in Kigali today, along with Jon and Steve Lawrence.

Arlene spent the day with some women who are HIV+. She informed us that she packed thirty reusable shopping bags as gifts, and gave away thirty-two today. She’s thankful for loaves and fish.

Shelli, for the team
