Friday – who would believe that a week could pass so quickly! The building continued to progress today. Ron, Emmanuel and others met this afternoon to go over the budget and the future of the building project. They needed to see where we were at with the finances and prioritize in moving forward, since there are not enough funds to complete the project.

What a day! The men are really making great progress on the building project. The foundation of the building is going and will probably be finished tomorrow. These men and such hard workers and are hauling rock, setting and mortaring them and all of this in the hot sun all day long with few breaks. Phew, what a day. It started off early, with Krysti and the guys heading into town to buy supplies. The men had to get some key items, and Krysti needed fabric for her project today. Another Day On The Job [excerpt]

Another day on the job site. Most of the team was out at the Kabuga site working on projects there. Krysti and Debbie continued with the ladies, teaching them how to better use the electric sewing machines and talking with them a little more about their ideas regarding the opening of a wedding dress shop here in Kigali. Preaching, Sewing and Woodworking [excerpt]

Things started off a little slow this morning. Shortly after breakfast Emmanuel and Steve Emerson headed to the airport to rescue our bins of scarves and ties and sewing supplies. Steve got a lesson in third world bureaucracy but him and Emmanuel managed to get the bins safely back to the guest house. Needless to say, we didn’t leave for Kabuga, the site of the sewing room, and future woodworking shop till about 12 noon. [...]
