» 54 soles and 1 soul
No internet for the past couple of days so we will try to catch you up on the latest happenings. Thursday was a day to remember for all of us. Traci and Olivia decided to stay at the office all day and get as many profiles done as they could. She was able to do about 27 that day – hence the 54 soles. It is heartbreaking to sit and listen to the stories of these children, but Traci is not going away sad, but encouraged as she saw the hope that they have for the future.
This left me (Krysti) to finish the english class and finish up sewing. One of the things I prayed about before I left was that the spiritual needs of these orphans would be addressed, so I asked Steve if he wanted to share with the combined class. As it turned out, he wasn’t able to so it fell to me. Before the class ended I shared with them my testimony and the “bridge” illustration. Christ is the bridge between God and man. Often when I share I choke up a bit, and of course I did this time too, however this time, God used it to break the heart of a young man John Baptiste. He is one of the woodworking students. Beaten and abused as a child by his stepfather, left home early and is now living with his godfather. He said that he never thought that there was a God, and was a very unhappy person. But when I started crying, so did he. God broke his heart and he heard the message as just to him. Praise God!! What a priviledge it was to be used by the Holy Spirit n this way.
Steve and Emmanuel had quite a day also. More to come……
